Boston area Reggae fans enjoyed a special edition of the weekly Reggae Takeova when Half Pint brought good vibes to the Thunder Road Music club located in Somerville, MA on Monday, January 27th, 2020.

Half Pint is currently on a winter US tour with the Jamaican Cali based band Yellow Wall Dub Squad which includes artist King Hopeton on keys. King Hopeton opened the evening’s great vibes, followed by Waterhouse, Jamaica native Andrew Bees.

I’ve been fortunate to see Half Pint perform on numerous festival stages in both NY and Jamaica. However, this is the first time I’ve had a chance to see him on his own tour. It’s definitely a wonderful experience to witness a Reggae legend perform in a small club setting for a full length live band show.

The crowd was full of great energy especially for a Monday night show. Half Pint thoroughly entertained the dancing fans with hit after hit from his extensive catalog which has now spanned several decades. During Half Pint’s approximately hour long set, he performed fan-favorite song selections including “One In a Million,” “Not a Substitute Lover,” “Mr. Landlord,” “Hold On” “Level the Vibes,” “Susie,” and his signature hit, the 1985 Reggae classic “Greetings.”
