Skip Marley “Slow Down” featuring H.E.R. by Empress K Reggae Reflection

Skip Marley Slow Down

Skip Marley demonstrates his  musical versatility in his latest song collaboration, “Slow Down” with two-time grammy winning  R&B artist  Gabriella Wilson, popularly known as H.E.R.

“Slow Down” was officially released on November 7th and debuted at #1 on the the Billboard Reggae Digital Song Sales chart. “Slow Down” is a Reggae style slow jam produced by Rykeyz. Fans liken the song to the vibes of the Lauryn Hill / Bob Marley version of “Turn Your Lights Down Low.”

In October, Skip Marley joined H.E.R on stage at the Hollywood Bowl in California at a Lauryn Hill / H.E.R. concert where they wowed the crowd with a performance of their new song “Slow Down” as well as an incredible version of “Turn Your Lights Down Low.”

It’s only been four years since Skip Marley emerged onto the scene in 2015 with his first single “Cry to Me.” That same year fans were able to see him on the road with his uncles on the successful Catch a Fire tour.

Since then he has made his mark with numerous hit singles such as “Life” in 2015, “Calm Down” and “Lions” in 2017. He was also featured on the chart-topping song “Chained to the Rhythm” in 2017 with Katy Perry, which they performed during the 59th Grammy Awards.

Additional Skip Marley collaborations in 2019

Skip Marley

His non-stop stellar work continues in 2019 with several hit singles: “That’s Not True” featuring his uncle Damian Marley followed by his own single “Enemy.” In other collaborations, he is on “Can’t Take it with Me” with Major Lazer, “All I Am” with Zhavia, and “Call Me Human” with French Montana from the soundtrack, The Godfather of Harlem.

Skip will be performing on the 6th annual Welcome To Jamrock Reggae Cruise in early December and will end out the year performing on Inner Circle’s 50th anniversary Reggae Jam concert on December 29th in Miami, Florida. Skip has announced his proceeds will benefit the Ghetto Youth’s Foundation Pic Love anti-bullying campaign.

There is much more in the works for “Slow Down.” In a recent conversation with Reggae Paul of the weekly Irie Vibes show on Live975.com, Skip Marley mentioned an acoustic version of Slow Down is in process and the video for “Slow Down” will be coming soon!

I don’t think Skip Marley is going to slow down anytime soon! I’m looking to see what’s next for Skip in 2020.
