New Video: Spice – Black Hypocrisy

New Video: Spice - Black HypocrisyNew Video: Spice – Black Hypocrisy.  It’s been a phenomenal year for Jamaican Dancehall artist, Spice.  In January, she made history on Instagram as the first living Jamaican artist to surpass 1 Million followers.  Since then, Spice has become even more popular when she became a cast member of the 7th season of Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta.

In early October, Spice left fans wondering what was going on with her when she deleted all of her Instagram photos.  On Monday, October 22, 2018 it became clear that she had a master plan.  She resumed posting on Instagram with a photo of herself with a much lighter skin tone and blonde hair.  The caption of the photo read “Nothing wrong with a Fresh Start,” along with the announcement of a new mix tape, Captured.  This sent her fans and pretty much everyone else including international media into a frenzy wondering if she really bleached her skin or if it was make-up.

The next day, Spice released the first single and accompanying video for Black Hypocrisy.   The genius marketing ploy garnered major attention and brought awareness to the important issue of colorism.  Spice also  made history once again by racking up 1 million VEVO views in a 24 hour period.  As of October 28,  the video is still going strong and has surpassed 2 million views.

The new mixtape, Captured comes out on November 2, 2018 and is currently available for pre-order HERE.
