Oracabessa Music Festival,  a Memorial Day highlight in NYC

Thousands of patrons made their way to Roy Wilkins Park on Memorial Day.  Sunny skies and temps in the low 80s made this annual Memorial Day weekend festival  feel like a mid-summer event. 

The crowd was thoroughly entertained by a top-notch mixture of veteran and new Reggae and Dancehall headliners including  Josey Wales,  Sean Paul, Stacious, Dexta Daps, Alaine, Tarrus Riley, and Jimmy Riley who made a brief surprise guest appearance during his son’s set with the Blak Soil Band.  Freddie McGregor backed by his own band closed out this year’s festival,  a perfect ending to Memorial Day Weekend and the kickoff of a great Reggae festival summer season in NYC. 

Reggae Festival Spotlight – Northern California

Reggae in the Hills California 2015

The annual Reggae in the Hills Music Festival will take place in just two weeks from June 12th – 14th, 2015.  This three day festival celebrates Music and the Arts in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Foothills of Northern California.  Headliners this year include  Ky-Mani Marley, Don Carlos, Bushman, Kabaka Pyramid, Stick Figure, House of Shem, E.N. Young, Sister Carol, Gonzo featuring Beyond I Sight, Arden Park Roots, Indubious, Mystic Roots, and much more.
