Following the success of his March single “Lonely Days,” reggae artist King i Music returns with his second release of 2025. “Sick for Love” is a bold step into Afrobeats territory and marks his first self-produced track in the genre.
“I’ve always wanted to explore the Afrobeats sound,” says King i Music. “The riddim came to me quickly after I started humming the hook, ‘Sick for Love.’ From there, the song just poured out.”
“Sick for Love” captures the vulnerable early stages of a new relationship. The lyrics explore the delicate balance of loving someone who is still healing from past heartbreak. “She’s unsure, but he’s reassuring her, gently proving that love can be safe again,” King i Music explains.
King-i’s distinct voice flows smoothly over a catchy, upbeat rhythm layered with touches of soulful R&B. The song is both easy to dance to and full of emotion.
“Sick for Love” will be available on all major digital platforms on 7/4/2025 via 77 Star Rise Records.
