Welcome to our first Spotlight for July! Make sure to set your DVRs to record Shaggy appearing on the Today show on Tuesday morning! This week we spotlight two new festivals in the Boston Area coming up this month: The 3rd Annual Levitate Music and Arts Festival on 7/11 and the 2nd Annual Roxbury College (RCC), Roxbury Rocks Festival taking place on 7/18.
We’ve also added some new events to the calendar and Have selected our picks for some great new music releases in the spotlight!
Shaggy Scheduled to perform on the NBC Today Show – Tuesday, 7/7/15
Shaggy returns to NBC this week for an appearance on the NBC Today show on Tuesday morning, 7/7. At the end of April, Shaggy was a special guest on NBC’s Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. On the show he participated in an entertaining “Shaggy Off” – competing with Tonight Show announcer Steve Higgins on who could do the best Shaggy imitation! This time, you can expect to see Shaggy with his full band on hand to perform his latest chart topping hit, “I Need Your Love” and other fan favorites.
In other news, Shaggy has just released a new song for the summer. ‘ Boom Boom’ released on July 2, 2015 is produced by Sting International. Shaggy has also just been added to the 10th annual Six Flags Caribbean Concert taking place on August 9th in Jackson, NJ. Check out all the latest news on www.ShaggyOnline.com

Festival Spotlight: Boston
Levitate Music Festival – July 11, 2015
The 3rd annual Levitate Music and Arts Festival will take place on Saturday, July 11th at the Marsfield Fairgrounds in Marshfield, MA. Each year, Levitate offers a great mixture of Reggae, Funk, and Soul music to appeal to the audience of this growing festival. Reggae bands such as The Wailers and Steel Pulse have played in previous years. This year’s line-up includes Collie Buddz, Dr. Dog, Trombone Shorty & New Orelans Avenue, Galactic, Stick Figure, and more. Roxbury Rocks – July 18, 2015
Roxbury Community College (RCC) is pleased to present its second annual Roxbury Rocks Music Festival on Saturday, July 18, 2015!
The outdoor festival taking place at Roxbury College in Roxbury, MA will feature music, dance, food trucks, free ice cream, balloons and face painting.
The outdoor activities will be held in the courtyard between Building 2 (the Administration Building) and Building 3 (the Academic Building). On the roster are the following performers:

- Albino Mbie of Mozambique. He is a guitarist, vocalist, composer, producer and engineer;
- Tony Chambers, a saxophone player specializing in Jazz;
- Joseph Mosby, spoken word artist and RCC student;
- The Reggae band, King-I; and,
- OrigiNation, a noted Boston dance company.
Mistress of Ceremonies is Bonnie Johnson, producer and host of the WICN 90.5 FM radio program Colors of Jazz.

Boston: My Caribbean, One World Expo July 25 & 26
The third staging of the “MY CARIBBEAN, ONE WORLD EXPO” will be held Saturday and Sunday, July 25 & 26, 2015 at City Hall Plaza in Boston, Massachusetts. The theme for the 2015 Expo is “Caribbean Kids of the future”. Support our Disability Kids by donating children’s books at the event. NYC: Irie Jam Radio 22nd Anniversary Festival for Labor Day Weekend
Irie Jam Radio in NYC has announced a star-studded line-up to celebrate their 22nd anniversary. The festival will take place on Sunday, September 6, 2015 (Labor Day weekend) in Roy Wilkins Park in Queens.
