Kaya Fest 2019 Miami

This past weekend in honor of 4/20 I experienced one of the best festivals Miami has to offer with a lineup filled with prominent reggae artists, rappers, djs and soca bands.

If you haven’t guessed it yet, then maybe the lineup will help you out – Koffee, Protoje, Kes The Band, Third World, Sean Paul, Davido, Busta Rhymes , special surprise Dj Khaled, Farouko of Major Lazer, the Marley brothers and many more. Yes, it was Kaya Fest 2019!!!!

It was an amazing day where people from all walks of life gathered together to just vibe out. The energy and atmosphere was full with nothing but good spirits and strangers getting along like we were all one (which we are).

Taking the stage first was an amazing young artiste by the name of Koffee. If you haven’t heard this Raggamuffin yet be sure to check out some of her music from her first EP Rapture. While the sound system messed up and we could barely hear her for a few minutes this reggae queen continued to spit fire. She was totally into her music and unphased by the world around. She also performed songs as tribute to Buju Banton and Chronixx.

Following Koffee was Third World, and then Kes The Band introducing some of the Soca tunes from Trinidad and Tobago.

Davido introduced some afrobeat into the mix while Dj Khaled and Busta Rhymes brought in the American tunes.

4/20 Marley Family Heritage Day

A representative on behalf of the Mayor of Miami presented Skip Marley with a certificate proclaiming 4/20 as Marley Family Heritage Day.

From 1:30PM until close to midnight there was nothing but non-stop music, good food and fun for everyone in attendance! The food trucks on site had a variety of choices catering to meat lovers and vegans alike.

On the other side of the venue was Constance Bubble led by one of Bob Marley’s granddaughters, Shacia Payne and other amazing Denali Djs. In this section people danced and sang to dancehall songs while they shopped at a variety of vendors.

Overall, Kaya Fest 2019 is one you shouldn’t have missed but is definitely a festival to keep on your radar. For Reggae lovers old and new Kaya fest caters for all people and I look forward for next year!
