Boston Fans savor every moment at the sold out Stephen Marley Show at the Paradise Theatre on 9/17/12.

Stephen Marley kicked off his first individual show of the Roots Revelation part 2 US tour in Boston. After a 9 week sold out-European tour this summer  and with only minimal time time to rest up from the tour, Stephen returned to Boston along with his full  band  and continued the trend into a multi-city U.S. Tour before wrapping up in October.

Spragga Benz always a Boston favorite who was in town over the summer for the sold out movie premiere of the Boston-Jamaican directed film Green Card in which he is featured, opened up the show by performing a brief high energy set as only the shotta culture can do.

After a brief intermission, Stephen bounded onto the stage performing Broadway before launching into more songs from his latest grammy winning album.

For the fans that didn’t get enough of Spragga at the beginning of the show, no worries as Spragga returned to the stage to collaborate with Stephen on their well known hit Iron Bars from the Grammy Award winning Album Mind Control.  Jo Mersa, also a special guest on the show made his appearance next and the trio had the whole crowd in a reggae party dance as they performed Traffic Jam, Jammin, and concluded with Could You be Loved as the last song before the encore.

For the encore, Stephen slowed things down  a moment for the crowd to reflect on  Made in Africa and Tight ship from Roots Revelation Part 1, The Root of Life.

No word yet on the delivery date of Roots Revelation Part 2, The Fruit of Life,  however that was far from the minds of the fans savoring every moment of one of the best quality Reggae band shows to play Boston this year. Going to a Marley show is like spending an evening with the extended Reggae Family. Friends from near and far as well as numerous local musicians came out to support this quality live band show, something that the Boston Caribbean Reggae market has been lacking.  Hopefully Boston will see more shows like this in the near future.
